James Bay Canada Map – James bay is situated south of magee lake. The bay was named in the honor of a welsh captain, thomas james, who had explored the area in 1631. Situated in northeastern canada, the hudson bay is a large body of saltwater and the 2 nd largest bay on the planet, after the bay of bengal. Generally less than 200 feet (60 m) deep, the bay is 275 miles (443 km) long and 135 miles (217 km) wide and contains numerous islands, all of which are administered by the northwest territories.
